Replica necklace in gold, silver or bronze from the Kaupang excavation in Vestfold, Norway. The artwork measures 7/8” in diameter and are handcrafted in Norway
The original was cast in lead. It is a model for making moulds in clay, probably for casting a mount or jewelry. Four crosses put together make up the pattern. The original, datet to 800-900 AD, is slightly damaged with the top of one of the crosses missing on one side. This is reflected in the reproduction as well.
